Home Automation/Home Control Options From Entertainment Pros

January 5, 2023

Home automation is becoming increasingly popular as more and more people look for ways to make their homes smarter, more efficient, and more convenient. From lighting and temperature control to automated shades and entertainment systems, there are countless ways to automate your home and enhance your daily life.

Know The Difference Between Home Automation & Home Control

First, it is important to know there is a difference between home automation and home control. Home control is "literally" the ability to control devices in your home from a central control point. This could be your phone, a control panel in your house, or both.

Automation has more to do with scheduling devices and preconfigured settings and scenes. Think about it this way. At sunset, your landscape lighting turns on automatically. The lights in your kitchen dim to 50% at 8 pm. Your shades close at 10 pm, and your thermostat drops for a cooler more restful sleep. All of this is done without you having to do anything. No thinking, just enjoying the end of the day.

Take for example our most recent install. They opted for automation—lighting, climate control, automated shades, and multi-room surround sound & AV system. You can keep it as simple or go crazy and automate your entire house.

  • Lighting control: With home automation, you can control the lighting in your home from your phone or tablet. This allows you to turn lights on and off, and dim them. Set the mood for your next event. You can even set up automation rules to turn lights on and off at certain times or based on your location. This is great for security and peace of mind. If you hear a noise at night, quickly light up every room in your house!

  • Temperature control: Automate your thermostat to ensure that your home is always comfortable, no matter where you are. You can set temperature schedules, adjust the temperature remotely, and even use smart sensors to optimize your energy usage.

  • Entertainment: Automate your home entertainment system to enjoy music, movies, and TV shows with just the push of a button. With smart speakers, soundbars, and other home theater systems, you can control your entertainment experience from your phone or through preset configurations created by us.

  • Automated shades: Control the amount of light that comes into your home. This is especially valuable in the summer when you want to keep the temperature down and still enjoy the natural light, or reduce the effects of sun fading on your furniture and home through preset schedules. You can even set shades to close partially throughout the day.

There are so many different home automation options available, and the best solution will depend on your needs and preferences. Whatever your goals, there's a home automation solution that can help you make your home smarter, more efficient, and more convenient.

It's a great time to consider automating your home and home sound system!
